We provide services through our online sales platform “mysimplethings.lk” to innovative and industrious worker bees, that make the most of their time and energy, producing various goods and services on their own or with the help of a small team.

Through our platform, industrious people are enabled to sell online, taking their products and showcasing them to a large audience, increasing their market reach and customer base. We help our partners sell online with the minimum of effort, providing them with a free virtual shop/store space to display and showcase items for sale to our wide customer base.

Our partners are able to use the many features and benefits provided through our platform, giving them the extra competitive edge through our e-commerce services and enterprise resourcing solutions. Our Shop/store owners can concentrate on what there are good at and leave the marketing & selling, inventory management, and accounting functions to us.

Our goal is to uplift the small businesses, cottage & home industries, by giving them free access to sell on our platform through our SAS model. Our Partners get to upload products, sell, and deliver to their customers without any interference or restrictions to their interaction with their customers. Our partner relationship is based on trust and goodwill.

    • A. Affordability is number one All our sellers/vendors come under the maximum affordable retail pricing. That is, we; through our market research and customer surveys and investigations, suggesting the maximum retail price that our sellers/vendors can sell their creations. This is to ensure that our customers get a Products or Produce SKU at a fair price. This does not mean that we ask our sellers/vendors to sell at a loss, we ensure that every one gains and everyone wins. We advise our sellers/vendors on how to produce their product offering to you by reducing their cost of production and improving their efficiency, as well as how they can bring down their own home/family Products and Produce cost in the process.
    • B. It’s all about helping each other Sustainability is the key. We believe that you have your financial commitments as well as time commitments that tend to sometimes limit your options when it comes to buying something. When you join us as a partner or as a customer you become part of our local community and in a community, people help people. Families help families. Our operation is not oriented on profits and our customers are not oriented on gains. What goes around should come around.
    • C. Focus on what you are good at Commit to what you are good at. We want all our sellers/vendors to commit to what they can really do well and excel in. This way you are happy of what you make, and it’s off no effort at all to get the job done. If you are good at making something simple then just do it. Your community will love you for it. This platform is designed and intended to foster individual and small-scale home industry folks in your community, thereby giving them a purpose, a chance to elevate their living standards and income levels. This platform also will support housewives and students and folks between employment to contribute to their local community and the overall economy in the long run.

Our Standards

  • 1. Symbiosis - We facilitate community coexistence - Sellers/vendors and customers to come together with a win-win approach at My Simplethings.lk.
  • 2. Keep it simple - Simplicity is our biggest standard.
  • 3. Menu Home made My Simplethings.lks, is our drive. Our platform is about that, it’s about simple things in life that don’t cost much. Well, that’s what we are here for. We offer through our platform something simple that's all.
  • 4. Pricing - SKU pricing may change from partner to partner for the same Items on listings. We have allowed our partner to price their SKUs as per their own unique way, the quality of raw materials used, and so on. We also have placed a maximum retail price that each of our partners can price up as per a particular Products and Produce Items or SKU, based on the Products and Produce category, SKU size, and variations that may apply.
  • 5. Hygiene - Your products will be prepared hygienically by our sellers/vendors. Walkthrough our sellers/vendors workshop/s. We have special online virtual training for our sellers/vendors that takes them through acceptable standards that have to be maintained at all times.
  • 6. Order creations - Our sellers/vendors need a few days to prepare, source, and manufacture your order and plan their work. After all, this is a home-based operation and not a full-time Products and Produce supply operation. Give our sellers/vendors, who are housewives, school leavers, retired senior citizens, and such home-bound folk a chance to get this ready for you. We recommend planning your product purchase, use our "Plan my product" options to better organize yourself and help us be of better service to you. Did you know planning saves time and money - get tips on how to plan your day and time manage.
  • 7. Packing - Hygienically packed, is our only packing standard. Packaging will differ from partner to partner, and we encourage recyclable and eco-friendly packaging. Please try and take your container/packing material along with you when you go to pick up your product/s. This will be a very sustainable way forward, although a bit cumbersome at times. Our Sellers/vendors are encouraged and reminded constantly of the cleanliness of packing and dispatching Products and Produce, but take care and be watchful. Please bring any issues directly to the partner (source). Call our sellers/vendors and get your issues addressed.
  • 8. Collection of orders - We have an alerting system that will let you know via SMS and email when your order/s is ready for collection. When you have paid for your order, your confirmation receipt will also be sent to you via SMS and e-mail. Use your QR Code that is sent to you or your order number when collecting your order form our sellers/vendors. Make sure to click collected on your app once you have collected your order and rate our sellers/vendors for their services and attitude. Our seller/vendors will ask for confirmation of your order, just show your order number on your mobile phone or let them scan your QR Code. We always recommend you to personally collect your order to avoid any issue that may arise by sending a third party. This way you build up a better relationship with people in your community making this much nicer for all.
  • 9. Delivery - We have a mixed delivery option available for you, if you are not able to collect your order personally. When you select the delivery option you also agree that there may be issues in delivery times and order mix-ups. Delivery is not a service this platform offers, but a convenience at your request. Please note that we nor our sellers/vendors are liable for issues arising from you using the delivery options provided on the web platform.
    • 9.a Partner delivery options - Some of our sellers/vendors that supply Products and Produce via our web platform to you, may at certain times offer to deliver your order to you. If you are in agreement with their terms and conditions by all means go ahead. You can rate our partner delivery services too and let people in the community know how good their service was.
    • 9.b Third Party Delivery - We have created the option for you to select and engage a third-party delivery service. We have selected fairly reliable and well-known parties for this activity but, here too we want to remind you that we do not take any responsibility for any issues arising from such delivery service providers. If you are in agreement with their terms and conditions by all means go ahead. You can rate our partner delivery services too and let people in the community know how good their service was.
  • 10. Payments - We only accept card payments as a rule. So, go out there and get yourself a debit card or credit card. You can start an account with us and pay upfront for your future orders and booking. Please note that we do not offer any services on credit. As it takes us a few days to settle our sellers/vendors. We try our best to keep the cash flow going as most of our sellers/vendors will require a regular inflow of cash to keep their business going.
  • 11. Rating - We have a rating system that takes our sellers/vendors off our site if ratings get low. Our rating system is a 360-degree system that keeps our customers and sellers/vendors apprised of how they maintain standards.
    • 11.a Platform rating - We rate our sellers/vendors on the following areas of importance that we believe will maintain standards and a level of expected quality.
  • 12. Training sessions participated - We conduct online training through video conferencing and other online methods. Our training concentrates on hygiene in Products and Produce manufacturing and storage, Products and Produce costing and accounting, order planning and meeting deadlines, Customer service and complaint management, on-time delivery etc. Sellers/vendors' participation in these sessions are given ratings on the number of training participated and on the frequency of training.
  • 13. Quality check walk-through - Our sellers/vendors need to routinely post videos of their operation and workshop tour videos on our platform for anyone to see. This way customers can rate our sellers/vendors on cleanliness and hygiene aspects that they see should be improved and contribute to the overall rating of our sellers/vendors. Our platform too rates sellers/vendors workshop tour videos and updates their overall rating.
  • 14. Product rating - Customers can go back to their app and rate the purchased and give constructive feedback to our sellers/vendors. A simple very bad, bad, OK, Good and very good rating on Products and Produce quality is available. You can rate on the quantity quality and weight of the SKU and other aspects as packing, delivery, friendliness, and overall service is available too. Your comments go straight to our sellers/vendors for them to take on points for improvement.
  • 15. Compliance rating - Sellers/vendors that get themselves certified through government bodies for Products and Produce safety and standards get special ratings that move them up in the point scheme. Customers can see the partner ranking and make a choice on which partner to go with when making their order.
  • 16. Customer rating - Sellers/vendors too can rate their customers. On politeness, friendliness or offensiveness. If customers are poorly rated by sellers/vendors regularly our platform will remove such customers from interacting with our sellers/vendors or give warning ratings to sellers/vendors when such customers are ordering. Customers will also be rated on the frequency of purchase and receive discounts and special offers.
  • 17. Supplier rating by Sellers/vendors - Our sellers/vendors can rate their suppliers and raw material vendors here on our platform. The quality of supplies, timely delivery, credit offered, availability of items, etc. All sellers/vendors can view the supplier’s ratings on their partner account supplier page and assess the select suppliers that they can order from.
  • 18. Partner rating by Supplier - Suppliers too can rate their sellers/vendors and sellers/vendors will be notified individually through their notification and dashboards in the partner account page. Sellers/vendors with poor ratings from suppliers will be evaluated for removal after a formal investigation into the issues.
